So I finally got those test scores I've been going on and on about. I had to take a test called Praxis 1, ever heard of it? Basically I had to take this test to see if I'm smart enough to teach. You are tested in reading, writing, and math, and you have to pass with a certain score. I knew my reading and math score the day I took the test, but I've been waiting on my writing scores for 8 weeks now...come to find out I was able to look it up online, which I did, and I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This now means that I can officially apply to the teaching program at the U. I had to get a whole butt load of things together to send in with my application, like 3 letters of recommendation, all of my transcripts, (get this, that includes my transcripts from the U where I currently attend, and I had to pay $5 to get them sent to me, and then turn around and give them right back to the U with my application.) I had to get fingerprinted, and get a background check, which totaled to $80. I had to pay $130 to take the Praxis, and now that I finally got those scores I can submit my application! School really does suck you dry though! I swear every corner I turn they have found another way to charge me money! It kind of defeats the purpose of being a poor college students if you can't afford to be a poor college student because it's the school that is asking for all of your money. Sorry, I'm SO broke, and it hurts!!!! :)
Anyway, all I have to do now is write a paper basically saying that I'll be a great teacher, and I'll bring all these great things into the profession, yada, yada, and then by the end of the week, I am taking my manila envelope to the department of Teaching and Learning, and I am handing it over to them to decide my fate!!!!! Yikes! It's SO exciting but SO nerve racking.
